Create a chat widget

Set up a widget step by step: name, look, instant answers, AI settings and knowledge.

Updated Oct 6, 2026

A widget is the chat window that appears on your website. Each widget has its own look, AI settings and knowledge base, so you can create one per website or per brand.

Signed up from the setup page? Your first widget is already created. Open it from Widget Manager to change anything below.

Start a new widget

  1. Log in to the dashboard and open Widget Manager.
  2. Select Create New Widget.

The wizard has six steps. Select Save & Continue to move to the next one. A live Preview shows how the widget will look.

Step 1: Identity

FieldWhat to enter
Internal NameA name only your team sees, for example "Marketing Landing Page"
Header TitleThe title at the top of the chat, for example "Support Team"
Header SubtitleOptional line under the title, for example "Always here for you"
Target DomainThe website where you'll install the widget, for example https://yourwebsite.com
Welcome MessageThe first message visitors see, for example "Hello! How can we help you?"
Greeting LanguageThe language of the time-based greeting, such as "Good morning": English, Swedish, Finnish or French

Step 2: Appearance

  • Brand Color and Text Color to match your website.
  • Position: bottom right or bottom left of the page.
  • Widget Icon Style: choose the chat button icon.

Step 3: Instant Answers

Instant Answers show up to three quick-reply buttons when a visitor opens the chat, for common questions like "Do you offer free shipping?"

For each question you turn on, choose a Response Mode:

  • AI Generated Response answers with the AI, using your knowledge base. The AI Assistant must be on (step 4).
  • Pre-defined Stated Response always shows the exact answer you write.

You can leave Instant Answers turned off.

Step 4: AI Config

  • Enable AI Assistant lets the widget answer visitors automatically from your knowledge base.
  • Auto Re-Enable AI hands the conversation back to the AI if no one on your team replies within the Time Delay you set, for example 5 minutes.

Step 5: Knowledge

Give the AI the information it needs to answer: import pages from your website and add extra text such as FAQs. This step is explained in Train your AI assistant.

If you turned the AI off in step 4, you can select Skip to Finish.

Step 6: Done

Your widget is saved. Select Copy Code and add it to your website. See Install the chat widget.

Edit a widget later

Open Widget Manager and select the widget. The same steps open, so you can change the look, AI settings or knowledge at any time. Changes apply to your website without reinstalling the code.

The number of widgets you can create depends on your plan. The free trial includes 2. See Plans, free trial and billing.
